Thats a tough one, but I have heard the concept of open marriages is on the rise.
I couldn't do it, and even though it seems like it works for some, doesn't that completely defy the whole entire concept of marriage in the first place.
I have heard allot of couples doing this but like Sharina I couldn't do it. I think whats the purpose of getting married and that is not what God intended for marriage. That covenant is between a man and a woman. So I can't judge the people that do but I couldn't do it.
I'm not sure about the divorce rate being decreased but I am sure mine would increase it. Open marriage does not exist in my household, My husband and I entered into those sacred nuptials alone and I value those vows. This may be good for someone else, just not me. So to answer your question with the increase of open marriages only time will tell if the divorce rate will decrease.
I've given this a lot of thought over the years. I think I'm ok with open realtionships, but not open marriages. An open marriage opens the door to confusion.
I know I'm late to post on this one, but I'm new to your blog and I'm trying to catch up. My answer to this is ABSOLUTLEY the divorce rate would INCREASE at my household if open marriage was a possability. I don't see how you can have a truly happy marriage if the door is still open. No way would this fly in my home nor in my relationship. I think if more people were up front about wanting an open marriage then yes , the divorce rate would go down because less people would be getting married.
RWOC was created as a social, motivational and
spiritual outlet for married woman of all cultures,
backgrounds, and religions. We provide support
through participation in our events, our online
message board, workshops, and round table
discussions. We are not your typical social group for
we are a continuous source of encouragement and
positive direction.
"Real Wife" was does it mean? In our interpretation, a
real wife is one that is supportive, nurturing, intelligent,
loving and thoughtful. However, we also realize that
sometimes fulfilling your role as a wife can become
challenging and sometimes overwhelming. Its during
those times that you need a "positive" outlet to come to
whether you want to laugh, cry, scream or just exhale.
RWOC is that outlet.

If its an open marriage than why get married at all? Why not just remain friends and do your thing. marriage is about commitment.
yes why get married if it open! Just date and have a dip on the side!!!
Really enjoyed reading you ladies comments. Thank you so much for your input!
