MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY: Pray for your Husbands

Share

Reading, I came across a statement that I totally related to.  It said, "  Unfortunately I didn't really pray for my husband until I started praying for my children."  I related because this is exactly what I do!  My son is my son.  He's 3 years old, and he'll be going off to school this fall and I'm like, "this cannot be happening!  This is my baby!  He doesn't know enough!  How will he protect his self if someone bothers him?  How will he clean himself if he poops?  He's not fully potty trained yet!  I can go on and on with all the worries, but all I can do is pray for him.  Its so easy to pray for him when he drops his cup of juice on the floor that I just mopped.  Its easy to pray for him when he empties all of the baby wipes out of the container that I just filled and stuffs them all into his dirty clothes hamper, but when my husband drops food all over the stove that I just scrubbed clean, or forgets to take out the garbage I admit its not so easy to pray for him.

Praying for your husband is not the same as praying for your child, simply because as Parents we have authority over our children.  We don't have authority over our husbands.  We do have authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19), and we can do damage to the enemy when we pray.  The enemy can be an addiction, your job, your relatives, or friends, an attitude or even a hobby.  You have to pray on it, and tell that enemy that you will not allow anything to destroy your marriage, you will not tolerate it, or stand for it!  Pray for you to release it, and pray for him to release it!
